Base Materials Recieves Award at the Manufacturing Supplier Innovation Awards UK 2026

Base Materials has been recognised at the Manufacturing Supplier Innovation Awards UK 2026, winning the Most Innovative Provider of Sustainable Materials category for its proprietary Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool.

The award recognises our approach to improving visibility of environmental impact across advanced materials, supporting customers with more reliable, product-level carbon data.

Turning data into decision

As sustainability requirements continue to evolve, manufacturers are under increasing pressure to move beyond high-level claims and provide credible, product-specific data.

Our dynamic LCA tool has been developed to address this challenge. Built in partnership with sustainability consultants, MyCarbon, the tool enables product-level carbon footprint calculations across our material portfolio using a consistent cradle-to-gate methodology.

Unlike traditional approaches that rely on broad assumptions or industry averages, the model is based on own formulations, manufacturing processes and supply chain inputs.

Sophie Hudson, Head of Marketing, commented:

One of the things we often hear from customers is that getting reliable carbon data at a product level isn’t easy. There’s a lot of high-level information available, but when you get into the detail, it becomes much more challenging.

“That’s what led us to develop our dynamic Life Cycle Assessment tool, using our own data, processes and supply chain inputs. It means we can generate consistent, product-level insights and have much more informed conversations with customers.

“Winning the award is great recognition, but for us it’s really about continuing to build on this and making the data as useful as possible over time.”
