Rather than relying on high-level estimates, we've created a bespoke tool in partnership with specialist carbon accounting consultants, MyCarbon, to quantify the product carbon footprint for each of our products through a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Cradle to gate carbon footprint data
Our LCA tool evaluates environmental impacts on a cradle-to-gate basis, covering:
- Raw material extraction and sourcing
- Transport and logistics
- Manufacturing and processing
- Energy and water use
- Packaging of the final product
The results provide a clear and credible assessment of embodied carbon, expressed as Global Warming Potential over 100 years (GWP100) and measured in kilograms of CO₂ equivalent (kg CO₂e). This ensures the data we share is relevant, comparable and suitable for inclusion in product-level and Scope 3 carbon footprint calculations.
Aligned with recognised standards
Our Life Cycle Assessment methodology is aligned with internationally recognised standards and best practice, providing confidence in the quality and robustness of the data:
- ISO 14067 – Carbon footprint of products
- ISO 14044 – Life cycle assessment requirements and guidelines
- GHG Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard
- IPCC GWP100 impact assessment methodology
The LCA tool and its outputs are fully validated by MyCarbon, ensuring transparency, consistency and credibility across our product carbon footprint reporting.
Bio-based raw materials
Working closely with our supply chain partners, we're ensuring that we use bio-based raw materials made from renewable sources within our tooling board material formulations. We certify the content of our products according to ISO 16620 through a third party, with certification information available on request.
Same great products; improved environmental impact.
