Our carbon footprint

Climate change is a global challenge. Our sustainability journey reflects our responsibility to our employees, customers, and communities. Sustainability starts with us. It’s about doing our part now, when it matters most.

We are carbon neutral!

As part of our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment, we’ve offset our baseline emissions for FY 23/24 and created a carbon reduction plan that details our commitment to becoming Carbon Neutral, achieving Net Zero emissions in line with government targets, and a pathway to get us there.

Why? Because it’s the right thing to do.

We didn’t want to wait to reduce our emissions; we wanted to make a climate-positive impact, now.  We’re committed to building a sustainable business and reducing our impact on the environment.

What's next?

We're committed to driving sustainable change - prioritising environmental responsibility, strengthening social impact and ensuring strong governance. We've created an ESG strategy to align our activities and underpin them with clear KPIs.

We will calculate our carbon emissions for FY 24/25 using the GHG protocols to calculate our most recent carbon footprint.

We are working towards ISO 14001 certification to ensure we’re adhering to recognised codes of practice and have effective environmental control measures in place.

United Nations Carbon Offsetting Project - Guatapara Landfill Project

Located in Guatapará, São Paulo, Brazil, is a large-scale environmental initiative that captures and utilises landfill gas (LFG), primarily methane, generated from the decomposition of municipal solid waste. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas, and if left unmanaged, it would escape into the atmosphere, contributing significantly to climate change. This Project combats that by collecting the gas through a network of wells and pipelines and either burning it safely in high-temperature flares or using it as fuel to generate clean electricity.

The project not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions - avoiding more than 2.3 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent over seven years - but also replaces electricity that would otherwise be produced from fossil fuels.
