WHY USE BIO-BASED RAW MATERIALS?

Sustainable (bio-based) raw materials come from renewable resources such as plants, and by changing the way we source some of our raw materials we can contribute to reducing the amount of fossil raw materials we use in our processes and achieve a better balance and improved environmental impact.  

All of the bio-based raw materials we use are REACH-compliant.

RAW MATERIAL SOURCES

  • Palm kernel oil – an edible vegetable oil derived from the kernel of the fruit of oil palm trees, meeting RSPO global standards for sustainable production  
  • Vegetable glycerine – a type of carbohydrate derived from plant oils  
  • Sucrose - a sugar composed of glucose and fructose subunits derived from plants  
  • Castor oil – a vegetable oil derived from castor beans  

OUR BIO-BASED PRODUCTS

  • BP1250 high-density polyurethane tooling board - 30% bio-based content
  • BP1404 high-density polyurethane tooling board - 30% bio-based content
  • BP1700 high-density polyurethane tooling board - 12% bio-based content
  • Ares® 770 novel tooling board material - 25% bio-based content
