Process Engineer

Negotiable up to £45,000 Whetstone, Leicester

We are seeking an experienced, innovative Process Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for developing the workflow, workstations, and equipment improvements within the manufacturing process. You will also be responsible for improving and implementing various methods and procedures with the purpose of reducing cost, improving efficiencies and productivity and reducing waste.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Use continuous improvement techniques and best practice to improve efficiencies
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing chemical manufacturing processes in relation to equipment and installations
  • Devise new approaches to problem solving Improve housekeeping standards using 5s and other lean methodologies
  • Responsible for delivering industrialised processes in line with business objectives
  • Responsible for the design and specification of machinery
  • Implement best practice methods, tools, and processes to meet current and future business requirements
  • Ensure that all work and documentation meet departmental procedural and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate capacity of the manufacturing process, enhance as required and recommend changes to the product design standard
  • Be an integral part of the non-conformance and continuous improvement procedures
  • Create, Update and Maintain accurate BOMs
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with Health and Safety requirements
  • Lead and manage the SOP content and production documentation
  • Provide reports on the process engineering function to senior management
  • Work collaboratively with various departments including quality, production, technical and Health and Safety Training and assisting various other departments regarding product design and development
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry developments
  • Conduct research and assess various manufacturing processes

Essential skills: 

  • Lean Manufacturing qualification such as Six Sigma and 5s
  • Chemical engineering degree
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office software including teams, outlook, excel, word and PowerPoint

Experience:

  • Previous experience of being a process engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of ISO 9001 standards

This is a full-time, permanent role, 8:30 - 17:00 Monday - Thursday, 8:30 - 14:00 Friday.
